I’ve been in financial services since the beginning of 1992 when I joined Acuma, the financial planning arm of American Express. This gave me a grounding in the analytical approach to financial planning which I continue to employ.
In late 1993 I joined Friends Provident and during my 10 years with them I was promoted to the role of Senior Business Consultant, specialising in Pension and Tax Planning for businesses, including SSAS, SIPP and Group Pension Schemes.
In 2003 I left Friends Provident to become an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) specialising in Investment Portfolio design and Inheritance Tax mitigation. Around this time I studied to complete my Advanced Financial Planning Certificate (AFPC) at that time the highest qualification available in the financial planning profession.
When the Chartered Insurance Institute announced the introduction of the Chartered Financial Planner qualification in 2005, I wanted to be one of the first to achieve this and studied hard to complete the required exams within 12 months.
In 2009 I was invited to join the reputable and highly successful St. James’s Place Partnership where I now use my skills to advise individual and business clients on investment, retirement and tax planning issues.
I pride myself on developing long-term relationships with my clients. They regularly refer me to friends, family and colleagues who would benefit from my advice. If you know of anyone who may also benefit from my expertise please don't hesitate to refer me.
